Songs You Shouldn't Listen To On A Plane

I hate flying. Yes, it is actually really cool that humans have the technology to send a tin can full of people 30,000 feet in the air at 300 miles an hour. But still.

Anyways, so I set out this morning for New York and Boston and am making a playlist of songs to help pass the time on the plane. I've come along some that I really want to include but would just make me more nervous, a list I found hilarious and wanted to share. Enjoy! Click the song for a link to the video.

DIY: Rock Rings

With florals and maxi skirts and flower wreaths and 70's style platforms ruling the fashion of the week, what's a girl to do about accessories? You could of course go the flower on flower on flower route, or you could DIY yourself up some slightly more solid, but equally hippie-chic rings like I did the other night.

What you need:
Some ring blanks
Some rocks/gems with at least one flat surface
Some super strong glue (like SuperGlue)

What you do:
1) Decide which way you want the stone to face on the ring.

2) Dollop a generous (but not overflowing) amount of glue onto the stone. Gently push ring blank into the glue and set to dry. This might be slightly trickier if your stone isn't flat on both sides - i.e. you might have to hold them together for a couple minutes while the glue dries.

If you have a super long stone like I did, you could even try making a multi-finger ring.

3) Wait until fully dry. Rock out! (badumtsssss)

DIY Inspiration: Dressing Up Skirt Seams

I saw this skirt by Patricia Chang on GaryPepper's site on Fellt and fell in love. The intricate beading, the beautiful pattern, and the really interesting fabric waterfall on the side seams. Kind of reminds me of a DIY Geneva over at A Pair and A Spare did a while ago, inspired by the Gucci SS11 show. Check them both out, here and here.
