Riddle (And Photo!) Of The Month

Happy Friday my lovelies! It's been a crazy long week, and an even crazier, even longer month. I missed last month's riddle (forgive me?) so this month I'm raising the stakes two ways, just cause that's how I roll. 

First, in addition to monthly riddles, you're now also getting monthly photos by yours truly, mostly cause I'm a visual person and it's hard for me to imagine many posts without pretty pictures to look at. They'll range from film photos I took in high school and college (like the one below) to digital snapshots I've taken on my various travels.

And secondly, a real prize! Winner of this week's riddle gets a $10 gift card to an Etsy shop of their choice (though you're always welcome to ask me to make you something)! Yay for supporting small business owners!

Riddle Winner And A Return To The Internet

You know, sometimes life doesn't exactly go the way you want it to. First, I get violently and suddenly ill halfway through moving into my new apartment. Then my internet doesn't get set up until a week after I've been here, disallowing me from announcing the riddle winner, only letting through two prescheduled posts. Then I realize that being an adult means having to pay rent and utilities and not purchase fabric willy nilly from Joanns. Boo.

In any case, internet is back and so am I! So without further ado, and although almost all of you got the right answer despite its gross factor (I'm so proud! sniff), the winner is...

Bracelet/Anklet DIY and Giveaway!!

To reward you, my lovely readers, for being so patient while I worked out my computer/moving/life problems (and visiting in increasing numbers even though I wasn't posting!!), I'm giving you a double dose of awesome today: a DIY for how to make both a delicate bracelet and/or an anklet, and then I'm going to be giving it away to one of you! First, the DIY:

What you need:
A silver chain
Jump rings
Two claw clasps
A couple small charms or pendants
Pliers

What you do:

1) Measure around your wrist or ankle and cut your chain to that length. Remember you don't have to leave much/any leeway since claw clasps usually come with a bit of adjuster chain attached.

2) Attach the claw clasp to one end of the chain, and the adjuster chain to the other.

3) Attach your charm. For the blue charm, I cut my chain in half and reattached them using a jump link with the bead strung in the middle. Like this:

If you want the bead to move, just slide it onto the chain (you might have to detach the clasp for it to fit).

Since the silver arrow had a flat hook, I just attached it to a jump ring and attached it to the middle of the chain.

4) Done!

1000 Views Means a Giveaway!!

Hello my beautiful readers! I just realized that today, exactly three weeks after this blog went public, it's already hit 1000 views!!! I know that may not seem like a lot, but it is to me :) You have no idea how much I've appreciated all of your support and encouragement throughout this process, so as a little "thank you" I'm doing a giveaway!

What exactly am I giving away? Well, I have no idea. Meaning, I couldn't decide what on earth would be worth giving away, what you guys would even be interested in, etc. Sooooo I'm letting the winner pick their prize!!
